Change in direct debit date - For those who have home insurance
We at Folksam are switching to a more modern insurance system, which may affect the timing of your home insurance payments. Upon renewal of your insurance, you may have two direct debits close to each other.
If you pay your home insurance by direct debit, the payment will now be made on the first working day of the month instead of the last.
Two direct debit payments close together
If your insurance has a main due date on the first of a month, you will notice that two payments are made close to each other. This is correct and will only happen when your home insurance is renewed. One debit payment is for the last month of the current insurance year, and the other is made in advance for the first month of the new insurance year.
Example of two payments close together
-
If the main due date for your insurance is on January 1, 2025, the direct debit payment for December will be made on December 30, 2024. The payment for January will be made on January 2, 2025.
New insurance number
You will also receive a new insurance number when your new insurance year begins. You can find it on your insurance statement.
